NEWIL MINUTES
December 7, 2010

Present:  Jen Thiele, Caroline Haskin, Cindy Reinl, Kira Shockley, Jamie Matczak.   Absent:  Becca Berger, Kristie Wilson, Paul Waelchli
Vice President Jen Thiele called the meeting to order at 5:15 pm at Mackinaw’s.

Minutes were approved on a motion by Kira, seconded by Cindy.

Treasurer reported NEWIL assets of $16,936.37.

Coordinator’s Report  was that the tour at Bellin College was fun and it was nice of Cindy and Jodi to provide it.

Scholarship Discussion/Policy Change  There was some discussion about the current scholarship regulations and if there should be a cap on the amount given for an in-state versus out-of-state conference. We also discussed whether an individual should be able to receive a scholarship two consecutive years.  Caroline moved to set the maximum scholarship amount to $250 for any type of conference, and that individuals (belonging to NEWIL) cannot receive a scholarship two consecutive years. Seconded by Cindy.  Motion carried.

Presentation    Jen presented the Barnes and Noble gift card to Lois Mauermann for her many years of service as the NEWIL Treasurer. She was very happy and humbled.
